According to the norms of the European Union, regarding the societies of O.I., important objectives of the Greek society will be:

• Support of its members by the exchange of information and experiences.

• Relief by the feeling of mutual understanding and of not being alone with this special situation.

• Presentation of problems and needs of people with O.I. and their families to the public, to state and health authorities and national organisations.

• Collection and publication of information about O.I.

• Development of specialised clinics for treatment of O.I. - multidisciplinary approach.

• Promotion of research on all aspects of O.I.

The priority given to the above objectives, proves how vital is the mutual understanding for the people with O.I.. After the psychological support, which is very important, the above social and medical aspects of the disease will help in the development or the recreation of any scientific approach of the disease in Greece.

Members of the society, except from the patients or their families, will be professionals from different areas, meaning a many – sided approach of the disease.
